WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Fishing at Lake Castel dell’Alpi is governed by the Provincial Fishing Calendar of Bologna. Here are the main rules to keep in mind:
Closed Seasons
Fishing is prohibited from 6:00 PM on the last Sunday of February until 6:00 AM on the last Sunday of March to protect the fish spawning cycle.
Protected Species
Pike is protected from December 15 to April 15. Additionally, keeping pike under 50 cm in length is not allowed.
Equipment and Techniques
In certain areas, barbless hooks are mandatory, and specific types of bait are prohibited to help preserve the lake’s ecosystem.
